Erik’s journey began in his teens when he built his first neural network back in 1994, fascinated by the potential of technology to create and solve in equal measure. With a developer’s heart and a deep passion for building ever-better systems, he gradually moved into leadership roles, eventually becoming a bank CTO at an early age. This journey reflects his drive to bring technical vision into practical, impactful solutions for the financial world.
Mikael, on the other hand, is a financial powerhouse, having served as both CFO and CEO in prominent Swedish financial institutions. His broad knowledge of financial operations, combined with his strategic leadership, brought him face-to-face with the challenges and opportunities in lending and compliance. Mikael saw firsthand how outdated systems often held institutions back, inspiring him to seek a better way forward.
Together, Erik and Mikael founded Näktergal with a shared purpose: to create a smarter, more agile way for financial institutions to operate. With Näktergal Core, they’ve brought to life a platform that combines Erik’s technical prowess with Mikael’s financial acumen—built to support the future of lending.

As part of the EcoVadis assessment process, a team of international sustainability experts analyzes and reviews company data to create reliable ratings.
